Dear Schalmont Middle School Families,

Our Open House for Grades 6 – 8 is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23 at 6:00 p.m. The intent of the Open House is to provide our families with the opportunity to meet their student’s teachers and to learn more about our academic programs and courses.

The classroom presentations will include information on the course learning standards, grading practices, academic expectations, as well as the classroom culture and environment. If you have individual questions or concerns regarding your student, we encourage you to schedule a parent-teacher conference.

When you arrive, please head to the cafeteria lobby to receive the Open House program. You will get a copy of your student’s schedule during homeroom and use it to navigate the building throughout the evening. While having your student’s homeroom number handy is helpful, student and staff volunteers will be available to help you locate homeroom assignments if needed.

Throughout the evening, representatives from our student support team and school counseling department will be available in the lobby. In addition, several interactive displays will highlight the wide range of extracurricular opportunities available to middle school students.

Members of our administrative team will also be present to address general school-related inquiries or questions outside of class specifics. Should you have targeted questions regarding your student’s academic progress, our faculty can provide a “Family Conference Form” so we may schedule a dedicated private conversation.
