Dear Schalmont Families,
On Thursday, March 19 at 6:00 p.m., Schalmont High School will host its Grade 9 Orientation Program for the Class of 2030. This program is designed to help students and their families learn more about the high school experience and our academic program. Our goal is to ensure that our rising 9th grade students feel prepared, supported, and confident as they take their first steps toward a successful high school journey.
Purpose of the Grade 9 Orientation Program
The Orientation Program is intended to support a smooth transition from Middle School to High School. During the program, students will:
Become familiar with the High School building and daily routines.
Meet teachers, counselors, administrators, and support staff.
Learn about academic expectations, graduation requirements, and school policies.
Rotating Schedule
The Orientation will follow a rotating schedule. Students and their families will be assigned to small groups and rotate through several informational sessions throughout the evening. Current High School students will guide the groups to their locations.
Each session will feature presentations from our academic departments and provide an overview of academic expectations and course offerings. This format allows our students and families to engage in smaller groups, ask questions, and gain a clear understanding of the opportunities available at the high school.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to seeing you on March 19 at the High School.
Thank you,
Matthew Heckman
Executive Principal
