Challenge Encourages Positive Words

Students show positive words

Schalmont students encouraged classmates to write positive words about their friends and themselves for an uplifting challenge just before spring recess!

The Elevating Student Voices Club joined the boX Challenge, started by a Mohonasen High School junior, with the goal of motivating students to think about replacing labels society may place on them with words that are more positive and powerful.

“You can write on your friend and create a positive message about them that they didn’t know about themselves,” explained junior Trinity Randle. “Or you can create one for yourself and share things that others may have not thought about you before.”

The Elevating Students Voices Club spent time during lunch periods just before spring recess encouraging students to share their positive messages.

“We hope students take away that they are a good person and there is good in other people,” said sophomore Nikki Steele. “We hope people can find good in themselves and just be more confident.”

Great job, Sabres! #sabrepride
