MS Students Raise Money for City Mission

Students presents check to City Mission

Schalmont Middle School’s Sabre Service Club helped 63 people have an Easter meal by raising $150 for the City Mission of Schenectady.

Students raised the money through a Change for Change campaign and then presented a check to Executive Director Mike Saccocio.

Mr. Saccocio, who noted he is a graduate of Schalmont CSD, thanked students and shared stories about how the City Mission helps those in need. Not only does the non-profit organization provide meals at holidays like Easter but it also provides clothing, shelter and job training.

“It’s a place of hope because of people like you,” Mr. Saccocio told students. “Because the people you help, they will help others. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. It will make a difference.”

Great job, students! #sabrepride
