It was the first time in two years the school was able to hold the Fire Prevention Day as firefighters shared safety tips with students. Students also enjoyed the opportunity to get inside a fire truck and ladder bucket.

“You need to get out of your house as quickly and safely as possible,” Captain Matt Mickle told students while reviewing safety procedures.

Students were also invited to the South Schenectady Fire Department’s Open House that is taking place tonight, Wednesday, October 6 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event will feature free hots dogs, cider, donuts and popcorn as well as a bounce house.

Thank you so much South Schenectady Fire Department for helping to keep our students safe!
