4th Grade Moving Up Ceremony Info

Dear 4th Grade Families,

The 4th Grade Moving Up Day ceremony is right around the corner. This year’s ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 24 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. As in previous years, we will gather on the Schalmont High School Stadium Field beneath a large tent.

We will begin seating guests at 9:00 a.m. and kindly ask that you do not arrive before this time. As we will be seated beneath the tent, there should be plenty of space for family members. If you or a guest require wheelchair accessibility or any other accommodations, please reach out to me directly so we can make the proper arrangements.

Students should report to school as normal that morning and classes will be shuttled to the High School with their classroom teachers. As this day is also an early 11:30 a.m. dismissal day, parents and/or guardians are welcome to transport their students home directly from the ceremony if they choose. Your child’s teacher will send home correspondence in the near future regarding pickup arrangements so we can ensure everything is safely documented ahead of time.

As June 24 will also serve as our last day of school, there will be no rain date for our ceremony. In the event that we experience extreme, inclement weather on this day, the ceremony will be relocated inside the High School. As we approach this date, we will be closely monitoring the local forecast and will communicate any possible changes.

This is truly a day I look forward to as we celebrate and honor the achievements of our fourth grade students. I look forward to seeing each of you on this day.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions.

Always Jefferson Proud,

Mr. Gifford
