Mrs. Bennett and Mrs. Wood’s 4th grade classes recently wrapped up their first ELA module with a fantastic collaborative activity focused on what it means to have a “great heart,” both figuratively and literally!
The two classes came together to enjoy fun stations where students applied their learning.
“To demonstrate a figurative great heart, they wrote letters for a nursing home and identified ways to be kind. For a literal understanding, they built an edible heart model and participated in interactive exercise activities, including an exciting indoor snowball fight, to see how physical activity helps the heart stay healthy. The kids had a wonderful time working together across both classrooms!” explained Mrs. Wood.
