Schalmont has once again been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation! 🎶

The award is given to schools that “demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education.”

“This marks the 6th consecutive year we’ve earned this distinction, a testament not only to our outstanding students and dedicated music educators — but also to the unwavering support of our entire district community,” said Schalmont Music Department Coordinator Mr. Christy.

“Music is far more than a subject we teach; it’s a cornerstone of a well-rounded education. Through music, our students develop creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and cultural awareness — skills that resonate far beyond the concert stage or classroom. This recognition shines a light on the intentional choices we make as a district to ensure music remains a vibrant and integral part of our students’ learning journeys.”
