Pre-K Letter About End-of-Year Events

Dear Pre-K Families!

Happy (almost) Spring! It can’t be said enough how surreal it is to be approaching the final stretch of what has been a wonderful school year! Yet, in our next four months we have many special activities that will make even more memories of an already memorable year!

On Thursday, April 23, we are pleased to offer another field trip opportunity for our students, using a similar model to what we did last fall at the Dellavale Farm. For our spring field trip experience, school will not be in session, but we will be meeting as a group at 11:30 a.m. at Indian Ladder Farms (342 Altamont Road, Altamont, NY) to enjoy their Baby Farm Animal exhibit. Adults are free of charge, but the cost is $17.00 per student. If you can kindly send cash or check made payable to Indian Ladder Farms into your child’s teacher by Monday, April 20, it would be most appreciated. We will tour as a group, with students arriving and departing with their families. If you are unable to participate in this activity, do let your child’s teacher know.

While more information will follow as we get closer, please mark your calendars for the following additional special events:

Field Day – Tuesday, June 9 at 11:30 a.m.; rain date of Wednesday, June 10 at Woestina (two adults per student are allowed, but siblings will not be able to attend).

Pre-K Visit to Jefferson/Walk Through with our Senior Class – Friday, June 12 at 9:00 a.m. Students will take their first bus ride from Woestina to Jefferson, where they will escort our graduating seniors as they do their final walkthrough of Jefferson before their graduation! Pre-K students will then spend some time in a Kindergarten classroom, work alongside current Kindergarten students, and have a building tour of their own. We will then board a school bus and return to Woestina for the remainder of the day. This event is not open to families, but will be a great introduction to life at Jefferson!

Pre-K Moving Up Ceremony/Art Showcase – Tuesday, June 23 at 12:00 p.m. The ceremony will take place in the Woestina Gym, with space for four guests per student!

More details to follow, but we wanted to ensure you could mark your calendars sooner than later. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Sincerely,

Thomas B. Reardon, Ed.D.
