Jefferson Elementary students learned about the amazing things service dogs can do this week when guests Trevor Comeau and Wilde visited!
Each year, Mr. Comeau visits Mrs. DiPiazza and Miss Pink’s students to teach them about service dogs and answer questions. This was the first visit for Wilde as Dray, Mr. Comeau’s previous service dog who used to visit, retired last year.
Students had lots of great questions about Wilde, who sat patiently next to Mr. Comeau during his visit.
“How old is Wilde?” a student asked.
“He’s 2 years old,” replied Mr. Comeau.
“What kind of dog is he?” another student asked.
“He’s half golden retriever and half labrador retriever. He sheds more than I could ever have imagined,” Mr. Comeau said to laughs.
“Does he bark?” another student asked.
“He probably can but I’ve never heard him bark,” replied Mr. Comeau.
While students had questions, the favorite part of the visit for students – and Wilde – was the pets and belly rubs at the end.
Thank you so much for visiting our students, Mr. Comeau and Wilde! #sabrepride
