Schalmont would like to reach out to our community to help us add local businesses to our Career & Job Fair that we’re hosting April 21 at our High School.
The Career & Job Fair will feature local businesses and organizations looking to hire and connect with young people interested in jobs and careers. While the event was created to help Schalmont students, anyone is welcome to attend.
“We often hear how local businesses are struggling to fill positions, even ones that offer immediate career paths for high school graduates,” said Superintendent Dr. Thomas Reardon. “We created this Career & Job Fair to help connect those businesses with young people and hopefully create opportunities for our present and future graduates.”
The Career & Job Fair came together after discussions with Dr. Reardon, the NYS Department of Labor, and the Capital Region Workforce Development Board, who are sponsoring the event.
“We’re excited to already have Market 32, the New York State Troopers, Decker’s Land Solutions and others committed but we would love to include more local businesses and create as robust of a Career Fair as we can,” said Dr. Reardon. “If any of our families owns a business or knows a business owner who might be interested, we would love to hear from them.”
