Thacher Park Brings Animals to Woestina

Student touches snake in classOur friends at Thacher Park were back again! This time, their amazing staff brought rescued animals to our Pre-K classes!

There were plenty of “oohs,” “aahs” and “I’m not touching that” as our young Sabres excitedly welcomed Lady the Turtle, Buster the Bearded Dragon, Athena the Ball Python, and Sticky the Stick Bug.

And, of course, our young Pre-K students had many important questions.

“Can the lizard run on the floor?”

“Why does the snake not do anything?”

“I forgot my question.”

“It’s my teacher’s birthday.”

Thacher Park educator Rebecca Schneider did a wonderful job patiently answering all of their questions and sharing some mind blowing facts.

“Did everyone eat breakfast today? Well, Athena [the Ball Python] didn’t. She eats about once a week,” said Ms. Schneider.

“What?!?” responded more than one student.

Thank you again to our friends at Thacher Park! Your staff always does such a great job engaging and teaching our students!
