The Board of Education met November 24 for its regular meeting. Here is a summary.
- Occupational Therapist Hannah Busch was unanimously approved for tenure. Congratulations, Hannah!
- Connor Leddick was appointed as a long-term substitute teacher for High School Physical Education. Mr. Leddick comes to Schalmont after recently completing his degree at The Sage Colleges and is already familiar to our students as he recently substitute taught for Schalmont. Welcome Mr. Leddick!
- Superintendent Dr. Thomas Reardon shared a presentation on how Schalmont plans to use the last of its Smart Schools funding, state funding designated to improve educational technology. Dr. Reardon explained the funding will be used to replace the district’s iPads, which are largely used as assistive technology for our special education students, and purchase interactive whiteboards so the district is prepared to replace any classroom whiteboards when they no longer work. The presentation is available here.
The next Board of Education meeting will be Monday, December 8 at 7:00 p.m.
