Dray the service dog made one last visit to Jefferson Elementary last week before the 11-year-old golden retriever heads to retirement.
Each year, Trevor Comeau and Dray visit Mrs. DiPiazza and Miss Pink’s students as they teach them about all the amazing ways service dogs help. Students applauded as Dray picked up a bottle for Mr. Comeau and laughed at videos of Dray getting the zoomies at home when he gets “released” from his work.
While Mr. Comeau explained that he will be getting a new service dog to help him, Dray will still stay at his home. Students had many, many questions for Mr. Comeau.
“Can he do everything?” a student asked.
“He can’t do everything but he can do everything I need him to do,” said Mr. Comeau.
“Does he like chasing squirrels?”
“That’s a great question. He doesn’t. When I go outside the squirrels and rabbits don’t run away, they just hang out because they know he won’t chase them,” said Mr. Comeau to laughs.
“Is Dray your best friend?” a student asked.
“Yes, yes he is,” said Mr. Comeau.
Thank you Mr. Comeau for visiting Jefferson Elementary and wishing you lots of pets and belly rubs in your retirement, Dray!
