Schalmont senior Elijah MacNeil’s welding skills earned him a 1st place win in this past weekend’s New York State Thruway Cup!

Elijah (pictured right) competed in the American Welding Society sponsored event with two teammates from Capital Region BOCES’ welding program.

Elijah’s team competed against students from across upstate New York in a challenging format that required three different welding processes evaluated to industry codes. Students also enjoyed an opportunity to network with industry professionals and peers from across New York.
