Police Provide Helmets to 1st Graders

The Rotterdam Police Department helped keep Jefferson Elementary students safe this week by providing bicycle helmets to all of our 1st graders.

Each spring, police officers visit the school to provide free bicycle helmets that were purchased by the Rotterdam Police Department Police Benevolent Association.

Officers Andrew D’Aurizio and Sean Simmons spent Wednesday morning at Jefferson Elementary helping students pick out helmets and making sure they fit properly. Students were so excited that many skipped back to their classrooms with their helmets in hand.

Thank you to the Rotterdam PBA for sponsoring the event to help keep our students safe and to the officers for volunteering your time and being so awesome with our students!
