Letter About 4th Grade Moving Up

Dear 4th Grade Families,

The Grade 4 Moving Up Day Ceremony is right around the corner. This year’s ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Similar to the last several years, our ceremony will be held on the Schalmont High School Stadium Field beneath a large tent.

We will begin seating guests at 9:00 a.m. Please do not arrive earlier than this time. As we will be seated beneath the tent, there should be plenty of space for family members. Please reach out to me if you or a family member requires wheelchair accessibility or any other accommodation.

Students should report to school as normal on this day and classes will be shuttled to the High School that morning with their classroom teachers. As this day is an 11:30 a.m. dismissal day, parents and guardians may transport their students home from the ceremony if they choose. In the near future, your child’s teacher will send home correspondence regarding the pickups on this day so we have everything safely arranged and documented.

As June 25 will also serve as our last day of school, there will be no rain date for our ceremony. In the event that we experience extreme, inclement weather on this day, the ceremony will be relocated inside the High School. As we approach this date, we will be closely monitoring the local forecast and will communicate any possible changes.

This is truly a day I look forward to as we celebrate and honor the achievements of our fourth grade students. I look forward to seeing each of you on this day.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions.

Always Jefferson Proud,

Mr. Gifford
