Schalmont would like to inform our community about an accident involving one of our school buses this afternoon that was struck by a motor vehicle.

Route 13 was transporting Middle and High School students on Princetown Road around 2:35 p.m. when a vehicle struck the side of the bus. There are no serious injuries.

The district and the county Sheriff’s Department were immediately on the scene to assess damage and to assist our students. Students were cleared by medical personnel and will be brought home on a different school bus.

This incident will have no impact on Jefferson’s dismissal.
