Schalmont voters approve 2020-21 school budget
Schalmont Central School District voters on Tuesday, June 16, approved the 2020-21 school budget, with 1,059 casting votes in favor of the spending plan and 533 opposed.
Voters also approved the bus proposition by a vote of 927 to 666.
The results, announced at Schalmont Central School District shortly after polls closed.
“I want to thank everyone who took the time to participate in this important process by voting today,” Superintendent Carol Pallas said. “We are grateful for today’s show of support and will keep working to move the district forward.”
Board of Education Results
There were three candidates for the seats on the Board of Education on this year’s ballot. Vote totals are as follows:
- Kevin Thompson – 1,216 – 3-year term
- Michael Pasquerella – 1,215 – 3-year term
- Patricia Dowse – 1,135 – 2-year term
