Schalmont High School serves approximately 669 students in grades 9-12.
In addition to the state-required core curriculum, students have access to a pre-engineering program, distance learning, a range of electives that may appeal to their individual interests and more than 20 honors, Advanced Placement and college-level courses.
Students also have the opportunity to attend Tech Valley High School and other occupational programs and honors-level New Visions programs provided by BOCES.
Schalmont makes use of technology as a vehicle for knowledge-acquisition and problem-solving. As part of a $9.7 million capital project, approved by voters in 2007, high school students now have access to a state-of-the-art multimedia suite featuring 21st-century courses that integrate technology in a project-based learning environment. Students graduate prepared for the technologically sophisticated work environments of the 21st century.
While academics are at the heart of education, students also have access to a variety of extracurricular opportunities, such as music groups, modified, junior varsity, and varsity sports, as well as after-school clubs and programs.
