High School students in Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) recently created a wall mural with index cards to help foster an inclusive environment at their school.
Students urged classmates, faculty and staff to fill out index cards with “I Am” and then something that they are proud of or sets them apart from others. Students then used the cards to create letters to spell out “We Are Schalmont” prominently on a High School wall.
“Our differences make us special and we want to celebrate our uniqueness, eliminate stereotypes, and appreciate others so that we can continue to learn from each other and grow together. We are individuals but together make up our Schalmont Community,” said advisor Monica DiCocco.
