The event began by honoring Dr. Kerry Ricker from the Class of 1988 as this year’s Alumni Wall of Distinction inductee for the exceptional contributions she has made to the local community.

This year’s honoree, nominated by Jefferson Elementary parent Jennifer Hamilton, certainly embodies the best of what a Sabre can be.

Kerry Elizabeth Ricker, a 1988 graduate of Schalmont High School, is a doctor of osteopathic medicine with the Saratoga Hospital Medical Group -Primary Care Scotia-Glenville office. She is a board certified family physician, and the only one in her practice to offer osteopathic manipulation.

After receiving her Alumni Wall of Distinction award, Ricker spoke to the group as the night’s guest of honor. Ricker emphasized the importance of hard work and to not be afriad of failing.

The Top Ten percent of the Class of 2018 is comprised of: Brianna Autrey, Dulcie Beauregard, Kaitlyn Cole, Renee Dearstyne, Brianna DiCaprio, Alexandra Dixon, Caroline Gillooley, Emily Holman, Olivia Lawrence, Kaylie Older, Molly Older, Hailey Sikora, Devyn Smith, Jo Sullivan and Zoe Wise.

The evening provided them the opportunity to personally thank a parent or teacher who inspired them to achieve greatness. Each student took a moment to thank everyone who helped them get to this point, and presented a flower to their role models.

Congratulations to everyone!
