Monday Update — May 18, 2020

Good Morning Schalmont,

As we start to wind down our incredibly eventful year, I would like to take a moment to share with you some recent updates.

The governor indicated schools were closed until the end of the academic year, as such we will follow our Schalmont calendar and number of agreed-upon days per contract. This means that for us, the last day of school will be June 17th, and instruction will come to an end on June 17th.

In order for us to receive state aid, we will need to continue instruction on Friday, May 22nd which was previously a vacation day. However, Monday, May 25th, Memorial Day, is a federal holiday and that is a day off of instruction for all.

We are working on a pickup plan for students to obtain and dropoff materials as the school year draws to a close. We will have a plan designed for you to do that is safe for both you and for us. We will share it soon via information sent through email and posting to our website.

I want to thank you for all you have done during this time of remote learning to keep students engaged in learning – we are in the home stretch now.

As always, I hope this finds you and your families healthy and safe.

Respectfully,

Carol Pallas

Superintendent
