Hands-on Learning in Forensic Science

Students dissect clementines

Schalmont High School students in Forensic Science class have been discussing the indicators that medical examiners use to establish the time of death when a body is discovered at a crime scene.

“Students are developing questions to ask an area medical examiner and a funeral director as well as dissected a clementine to simulate the procedures used in an autopsy,” explained Teacher Lynn Gemmiti.
