Third graders visited the World Awareness Children’s Museum in Glens Falls this week to learn about the Chinese New Year without ever leaving their classrooms.
Students took a virtual field trip where they were able to see museum items up close on their Chromebooks and ask questions in real-time with Museum Administrator Emily Forbes-Wood.
Ms. Forbes-Wood taught students Mandarin Chinese phrases such as “hello” and “wishing you happiness and good health” as well as traditions and customs of the Chinese New Year.
To make the lesson even more engaging, students were given their own passports to write in and chopsticks to practice with.
Thank you to the World Awareness Children’s Museum for creating this opportunity for our students!
