End of School Year Letter for HS Families

Hello Schalmont Students and Families,

Here are a few reminders regarding upcoming events and dates for our students as the school year is quickly coming to an end.

Graduation Walk

The Senior Class will be participating in a “Graduation Walk” at Jefferson Elementary School on Monday, June 14 (A-L Students) and Tuesday, June 15 (M – Z Students). The students will report to the cafeteria after their second period class, at approximately 9:20 a.m., for a senior breakfast. Students will then board the buses for Jefferson Elementary. Students should return to the High School around 10:30 a.m. reporting to their 4th period classes to resume their regular day.

Permission slips were distributed in English classes last week, and were sent home to Full Remote students as well. Please return your permission slips this week if you wish to participate in the Graduation Walk. Full Remote students wishing to participate should come to school on their Alpha day (A – L or M -Z) and should submit a permission slip for planning purposes.

Locker Clean Out

All lockers should be completely cleaned out and emptied by Tuesday, June 15. We will be replacing our lockers this summer, so be sure to remove any personal items you may have in your lockers.

Last Day of Classes

Our official last day of classes is Wednesday, June 16, which is a virtual day. Please remember to log onto your classes for the day for final exam or Regents exam review, or any end of the year good byes.

Regents and Local Assessments

Regents Exams and local final assessments begin on Thursday, June 17 and run through Thursday, June 24.

Graduation and Graduation Rehearsal

The 64th annual Schalmont Commencement exercises are scheduled for Friday, June 25 at 6:00 p.m. on the football field. Families can arrive at the field to be seated beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Graduation rehearsal is planned for Thursday, June 24 at 12:15 p.m. on the football field. Rehearsal will take approximately an hour and will cover all of the information students need to know for the graduation ceremony, including how to line up, process and how to receive their diploma. Lunch will be provided for all students at the rehearsal.

As always, if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Thank you and be well.
