In an effort to ensure an organized system for families to attest to their child’s health, all students will be given a scan-able ID card. This card, which your child will use to “scan” onto the bus and into the building, will be distributed in mid-October.
This “scan” will constitute their (and your) attestation that your child is fever-free, does not exhibit any of the COVID systems (listed below), and has not been exposed to someone with the COVID virus.
We will send you a GoogleForm of the attestation, which contains a series of COVID exposure-related questions. We will ask you to submit this every two weeks, and we will send this to you via the SchoolMessenger service.
This card system also serves as a second layer of safety, these cards will provide us information as to the date/time a student entered the bus and/or the school (which could also assist should we have the need for contact tracing). This will save families from completing the daily attestation each morning via a form submission, as we recognize this could become difficult to do each morning. However, we are insisting you be diligent in ensuring your child DOES NOT get on the bus or come to school if they have:
- A fever of 100.0 or greater
- Dry cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
- Head or muscle aches
- Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting
Though we will not be asking you to complete this checklist each day, every two weeks we will be sending you the attestation to complete for our records, and to ensure you understand the importance of verifying the health of your child each day. We ask that you take this checklist seriously as again, each “scan” will be documented as your daily attestation to the above statement.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
