Dear Schalmont CSD families,
We want to inform our community that we learned late Tuesday evening that one of our High School students has tested positive for COVID-19. The student has not been at school since Thursday, November 12 due to the school’s hybrid schedule.
We have been working closely with the Schenectady County Department of Health, which provides guidance to school districts regarding COVID-19. The Health Department, as well at the school district, will reach out to any individuals who the Health Department determines should quarantine due to potential exposure. The school will remain open for in-person instruction following our normal hybrid schedule as closing our school building is not recommended.
This letter is not meant to alarm you. We want to keep our community informed as much as possible during these uncertain times while also respecting the federal and state laws that protect individuals’ confidential medical information.
I would like to thank the Health Department for their guidance as well as our faculty, staff and students who have done such an outstanding job following the COVID-19 precautions we have in place to help keep everyone safe.
