Dr. Carol A. Pallas joined the Schalmont Central School District as superintendent on January 1, 2013, after an extensive search conducted by Capital Region BOCES. 

Pallas is a veteran educator with more than 33 years of experience. Prior to joining Schalmont, she was the Chief Academic Officer and Transition Coordinator in the Greece Central School District, where she served in various roles over the past 12 years. She began her educational career in the Rome City School District where she served as an elementary school teacher for 10 years. 

Pallas holds a doctorate in educational leadership from the Warner School at the University of Rochester, and a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) from the State University of New York at Cortland. She earned a master’s degree in education from Elmira College, and a bachelor’s degree in education from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
