Schalmont musicians participate in All-County Music Festival

Feb. 2, 2016

Congratulations to the talented Schalmont students who participated in the All-County Music Festival last weekend.
Students from Schalmont, Schenectady, Scotia-Glenville, Niskayuna and Mohonasen came together for a weekend of music making, which culminated with a concert at Schenectady High School on Saturday.

Schalmont groups involved were the high school jazz choir, middle school band, middle school chorus, and middle school orchestra and were prepared by their Schalmont music teachers, including Mr. Godlewski, Mr. Renzi, Mrs. Toma & Mrs. Scheffer.

“All students involved had a wonderful time and learned a lot from the visiting conductors of each group,” Scheffer said. “It is amazing the sound each group was able to produce in such a short time of rehearsing.”

The students involved from Schalmont were:

  • Ashley Cuomo, Elena Evenden, Alex Gould and Shae Messemer from the high school jazz choir.
  •  Ethan Almodovar, Charles Anderson, Kaitlyn Goldie, Jenielle Handford, Lauren Rowe, Mya Taite, Isabella Almodovar, Shawn Clark, Griffin Galvin, Carter Gould, Mary Pegarella, and Max Schaefer from middle school band.
  • Michael Abbatiello, Megan Case, Amina Gardner, Veronica Lybrand, Islan Miller, Richard Putorti, Amanda Quick, Ariana Schultz, Heaven Scott, Kiley Shear, Nate Tys, and Hudson Walthers from the middle school chorus.

"This is such a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their love for music with others from other schools and the greater community," said Mrs. Scheffer.
