Calendar change extends the Memorial holiday for
students:
Students will be bringing home a letter today from
Superintendent Dr. Valerie Kelsey informing parents of a change
to the school calendar. The school board recently approved the
use of an unused snow day as an additional professional
development day for school faculty on Tuesday, May 29. This
change extends the Memorial Day holiday weekend for all
Schalmont students by one day. This means
there will be no school for students on Monday, May 28
(Memorial Day), and Tuesday, May 29.

To help ensure student safety, parents and students driving to
school are reminded to slow down while driving
at the middle/high school campus. Please do
not enter the front circle area when buses are there and/or the
red light is flashing. Parents dropping off or
picking up their high school children from school should
drive around the outskirts of the student parking lot to the
loop at the back of the high school outside the new gym.
