With more biological and neurological information of how children actually learn and learn best, apply the best of the new science in everyday classrooms.

Brain Gym - August 20, 2009
This workshop will provide participants with simple brain-body activities to stimulate, release and relax the mind-body system promoting whole brain functioning

Safe Talk - August 18, 2009
This three-hour training that prepares you to be a suicide alert helper.  You will learn four basic steps to recognize persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them with suicide resources.

Formative Assessment-August 13-14, 2009
Several teachers attended a formative assessment workshop at BOCES and were very impressed with its content and its immediate application to improve the instructional process.  The district and STI are pleased to bring this institute to Schalmont this summer. To register for this institute, email Donna Notar or ASAP and no later than June 10, 2009. Registration will be first come first served.
