Who can vote?
You are entitled to vote if you are a U.S. citizen, 18 years or
older, and have been a district resident for at least 30 days
prior to the vote. No pre-registration is required.
Personal identification/proof of residency
is required (e.g. driver's license with current
address, utility bill showing name and current address).
Absentee Voting
You may vote by absentee ballot if you are unable to appear at
the polling place. To receive an absentee ballot, voters must
obtain an application from the district office. Please

The application must be returned to the district office
at least seven days before the election (by mail or in person) if the ballot is to be mailed to
the voter, or at least one day before the election (in person) if the ballot
is to be picked up personally by the voter at the district
office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. To return an application by
mail, send it to: Donna Siska, Schalmont Central School District
Office, 401 Duanesburg Rd., Schenectady, NY 12306.
Absentee ballots will be counted only if they are returned no
later than 5 p.m. on election day. For more information, call
