The Schalmont Friends of
Music organization welcomes you to the 2011-12 school year. This organization is made
up of families and friends of students
who are enrolled in the music program within the Schalmont
School District. Our primary goal is to help provide
opportunities for our children beyond those normally offered
within the school curriculum that will enhance our children’s
musical experiences.
ACTIVITIES
Past activities include a Musical Chairs/Karaoke Night where everyone, both young
and old, had fun! We held our Holiday
Cookie Tray Sale, which proved to be very successful. Our
Jazz Night was well attended, and we raised money for the HS
band program. Much of our
fundraising goes towards various musical in-house programs
as well as NYSSMA medals and helping students attend
summer camps, festivals and clinics. We continue to support
the Lunch with Santa Program because our top musicians
begin their work at the elementary level.
MEMBERSHIP
Our goal this year is to get more than
150 families participating in some level of membership to help
support the musical experiences for our children. All membership
names are printed in our programs throughout the year.
You can be a
part of the magic of the arts for all children! Please download and complete
the
membership form
(PDF) to volunteer your assistance with any of the
above fundraising programs along with a list of additional
activities that are listed on the form.
The Membership form requires
Adobe Acrobat Reader to view. Acrobat Reader can be downloaded
