Dear Parents and Students:
I
hope you had an enjoyable summer. In just two weeks we will
begin the new school year. I want to inform you of some
important dates.
Orientation
An orientation program for sixth-graders, new students and their
parents is scheduled for Thursday, September 2, at 10 a.m. in
the middle school cafeteria. After some brief remarks by the
middle school's administrators, the guidance counselors will
give a presentation concerning the middle school program
followed by the opportunity to tour the building.
Schedules
Sixth grade student schedules will be sent out on Friday, August
27, so that they will receive their schedules prior to
orientation. Seventh and eighth-grade schedules will be sent out
on Thursday, September 2. If you have not received a
schedule by Tuesday, September 7, please contact the middle
school guidance office at 355-6255, ext. 2001.
First Day of School
The first day of school is Wednesday, September 8.
Students will report to their homerooms at 7:40 a.m. It is a
full day of school.
Back to School Night
Our annual Back to School Night will be held on Thursday,
September 16, at 6:30 p.m.
Sabre City
On Friday, September 10, Sabre City will be held for
sixth-graders only from 7 to 9 p.m. All students are
invited to attend Sabre City on Friday, September 17, 7-9 p.m.
The 2009-10 school year was a very successful school year in
terms of student achievement on state assessments, character
education efforts, extra-curricular activities and athletics. I
am certain that the 2010-11 school year will be a very
successful one for all of you.
I am looking forward to seeing you in September.
Sincerely,
Michael Kondratowicz, Principal
Schalmont Middle School
