Dear Schalmont Families,
Welcome to Jefferson Elementary School. We look forward to
another school year filled with many smiles, memories, and
learning opportunities. Jefferson is a special place for
learning. Our staff and students are very caring individuals who
help to promote a very proud culture within our building.
Whether you are new to our building, or returning, we ask that
you join in with us to make our school even better.
As you may all be aware of, there are many changes happening in
education at the state level. There are changes in testing,
curriculum, and accountability for all stakeholders. We will do
our best to keep you all apprised of these changes and how they
relate to your child’s education. Be assured that student
achievement is our top priority. Our teachers are a dedicated
and talented group of individuals. Throughout the summer months,
they have attended workshops and have begun to plan for a new
school year. As parents, you also maintain a crucial role within
your child’s academic development. Our partnership is an
essential ingredient in your child’s education.
The first day for students is scheduled for Wednesday, September
8. Please remember to visit the
Jefferson Web site for the
latest information throughout the year. Also, please be reminded
of “backpack” Wednesday each week.
