Girls V Bowling Finishes Perfect Season: Congratulations to the Schalmont High School Girls Varsity Bowling Team on having a perfect season during the 2008-09 school year. The girls went undefeated 12-0 in the league and 15-0 overall. More...

Sabres Wrap Up Great Fall Season: Congratulations to all fall athletic teams on a great season. The Varsity Football Team is the Section II Class B West Division champion, the Girls Varsity Soccer Team is the Colonial Council champion, the Boys Varsity Soccer Team is the Colonial Council champion and runner-up at the Section II Class A finals (click here for pictures), and the Girls Volleyball Team is the runner-up at the Section II Class B finals.

V. Football Wins Division: In October, the Schalmont High School Varsity Football Team earned the title of Section II Class B West Division champions. Congratulations to all of the players who were named to the 2008 Football Class B West Division All-stars. Click here for the list.

Sabre Soccer Update: Congratulations to the Schalmont High School Boys Varsity Soccer Team on winning their league and taking the title of Colonial Council champions in October. Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Soccer Team on winning their division and being named Colonial Council co-champions after a recent 0-0 tie with Mechanicville.

HS Teachers Honor Students at Annual Ice Cream Social:  Stewarts and the Schalmont Teachers' Association sponsored an Ice Cream Social on Thursday, May 28, in the high school. Teachers nominated students in their classes for a variety of areas including:  Most Improved, Positive Character and High Academic Performance. Click here to see a list of students honored. Senior Named Outstanding Citizen: Congratulations to Schalmont High School senior John Warzala on receiving a Rotterdam Outstanding Citizen Award. He will be honored at the town board meeting on Wednesday, December 10, at 7 p.m. Warzala, who is a member of Boy Scout Troop 54, organized a collection that brought in 700 coats for community members in need.

 
Fortman Receives Local DAR Award: Congratulations to Schalmont High School senior Andrea Fortman on receiving the 2008 Schenectady County DAR award. She recently attended the DAR "Good Citizens Tea" in Niskayuna. More... 
 
Schalmont Singers at All-State: Congratulations to Angela Bove and Megan Lesperance on being accepted into the Women's Chorus of the All-State Festival to be held December 4-7 in Rochester.
 
Schalmont Singers at Area All-State: Congratulations to Brian Renaud and Stacy Scheffer on being accepted into the Area All-State Festival choral group. It will be held November 21-22 at Saratoga High School.
 
HS Student a Published Illustrator: In November, Schalmont High School junior Matt Popa signed books with his artwork on the cover  at the Open Door Bookstore, 128 Jay St. He illustrated Alan Hart’s new local history book, Flashbacks. Congratulations to Matt on such an impressive accomplishment.
 
Fortman Named AP Scholar: Congratulations to Schalmont High School senior Andrea Fortman on earning the title of AP Scholar. She did so by receiving grades of three or higher on three or more Advanced Placement exams during the 2007-08 school year. More...

Schalmont Seniors Build Hiking Trails: This summer, four Schalmont High School seniors - Mike Azzaro, Coleman Jennes, Dan McCrossan, and Brandon Vine - spent a week in Jackson Hole, Wyo., building trails in the Bridger Teton National Forest. They participated in a Boy Scout service project in which they worked with the National Park Service to build approximately 15 miles of hiking trails. More...

Girls Basketball All-star: Congratulations to varsity basketball player Kelly Piotrowski on being selected for the Colonial Council all-star second team.

Hockey All-stars: Congratulations to varsity hockey players Kyle McKelvey, forward, and Petter Lundgren, defense, on being named Section II All-stars. McKelvey was also this year's Capital District High School Hockey League lead scorer.

Senior Named "Jacques" of All Trades: Congratulations to Schalmont High School senior Kyle McKelvey on being selected as a Capital News 9 “Jacques of All Trades.” Sports anchor Marisa Jacques’ program about McKelvey aired during a recent High School Football Kickoff Show.  McKelvey is an honors student, plays three sports, holds down a part-time job, and is enrolled in the New Visions Health and Careers program at St. Peter's Health Care Services in Albany.
