HS Students Selected for All-State Festival

 Congratulations to the four
Schalmont High School students who were selected to
participate in the New York State School Music
Association All-State Festival to be held Dec. 3-6 in
Rochester. Megan Lesperance, Sarah Banker and
Ben Sponable will perform in the Mixed Chorus.
Stacy Scheffer will perform in the Women’s Chorus.
Selection for the NYSSMA All-State Festival is the
highest honor given to music students in the state. More
than 6,600 students auditioned last spring for positions
in the following All-State ensembles: Symphony
Orchestra, String Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Wind
Ensemble, Mixed Chorus, Women’s Chorus, Instrumental
Jazz Ensemble, and Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Only 886
students were selected to participate. The Schalmont
vocal students who were selected each received a perfect
score of 100 at their audition.
Congratulations to these students on such a high honor!
