Congratulations
to the Schalmont High School Girls Varsity Bowling Team on
having a perfect season during the 2008-09 school year.
The girls went undefeated 12-0 in the league and 15-0
overall. They won the Colonial Council regular season
championship and end-of-season tournament for the second
year in a row.
The team finished its
perfect season by winning the Section II Class B
championship for the first time in Schalmont history.
Bowlers Liz Kuhlkin and Natasha Bidwell were in the top
six high scores for the day. They will now represent
Schalmont at the New York State Bowling Championships as
part of the Section II All-star Team.
The team includes seniors
Renee Tomasck, Ashleigh Sellick, and Marissa Leone;
junior Kristen Cusano; sophomores Liz Kuhlkin, Meredith
Juers, and Juliann Heigel; and freshman Natasha Bidwell,
Nicole Leone, and Nicole Gentile.
Liz Kuhlkin led the team
with an average of 215 and was league MVP. Natasha
Bidwell had a hi triple of 730, which involved a 300
game. Meredith Juers bowled a 287 game. Bidwell, Juers
and Marissa Leone were named to the first team of the
league all-stars.
