Mrs. Schmidt has been employed at Schalmont for 17 years. She is responsible for 10th grade students and high school students enrolled in our SDI, SD II, SD III and Community Transition programs.

Mrs. Schmidt attended Hartwick College, the University at Albany and SUC Oneonta. She has a B.A. in Psychology and an M.S. in Counselor Education and has completed 30 credit hours of advanced study in Counselor Education. Before coming to Schalmont, Mrs. Schmidt was employed as a Guidance Counselor at Berkshire Farms Middle/High School.

Mrs. Schmidt has been involved with the Drama Club and has coached the Schalmont modified and JV softball teams. In addition, she was a class advisor.

She states,” I am a student advocate. I help students and parents navigate their way through high school, plan for their future, and provide support and information to faculty and staff.”
