student portion of the application.
- Private colleges - normally require 2-3 recommendations. You
should get 2 from
teachers and the 3rd from an extra-curricular advisor or
employer
- Public colleges (SUNY) - do not require recommendations, but
can help your
chances of admission, especially for a student with unusual
circumstances
-
Turn in the
completed application with fee to Mrs. Goodwill in the
Guidance Office. If you apply electronically, fill out a
transcript request form with Mrs. Goodwill.
Counselor completes school portion of the application
-
Mrs.
Goodwill mails the application with transcript through the
Schalmont School District mail. You do not have to pay
postage.
-

-
The college

admission.
-
Give notice
to the colleges that accepted you. You must inform the
school(s) if you plan to attend the following school year. If
you need an extension—request an extension from the Admissions
office at the college.
-
A form will
be sent to homeroom in May for you to fill out and return to
Mrs. Goodwill informing her where you wish to have your
official high school transcript sent. The colleges will not
admit you without proof of graduation.
