Dollars for Scholars logoSchalmont Dollars for Scholars is an all-volunteer organization whose goal has been to provide at least six $500 scholarships a year to deserving seniors through an application process. The group also administers several memorial scholarships set up by friends and family to honor deceased relatives.

Applying for Scholarships
All Schalmont seniors are eligible to apply for a scholarship. Applications are available on the Schalmont website and must be submitted to the guidance office by the deadline. Awards are made by a committee of volunteers. Students’ names are removed from the applications to guarantee an unbiased selection. Academics, leadership, work ethic and service are all taken into consideration. Dollars for Scholars Needs Your Help
We need your help! We welcome new members and new ideas for fund raising, selection and administration of scholarships. We meet four or five times per year, usually at 7:00 p.m. in the high school library. It is not necessary for committee members to attend every meeting. If you have time to volunteer or would like to have your name placed on the phone-a-thon list, please contact Nancy Mafrici at 356-1562 or Carol Duchesne at 887-5054.
