The Schalmont High School Alumni Wall of Distinction was established during the district's 50th anniversary celebration in 2007 to honor alumni who have made significant contributions to their school, community and/or country. Honorees serve as role models for our students and as symbols of the high caliber of graduates produced by our district. Their examples are intended to inspire and motivate our students to excel, both in academics and in life.
The 2014 program is now complete. Please check back for information about the 2015 program in the fall.
If you nominate someone and he/she is not selected this year, his/her nomination will be kept on file for reconsideration the following year. He/she also will receive a letter confirming the nomination and inviting him/her to submit additional information for consideration in the following year.
Selected honorees, or their representatives if they were nominated
posthumously, are asked to attend an induction ceremony and reception
held at the high school, which is open to the public. This year's
event time and location is yet to be determined.
Every day, students pass by the Alumni Wall of Distinction, which features plaques for each honoree with their biography and picture, in the high school lobby.
Honorees are recognized by the district in newsletters, the website, Facebook page and potentially by the local media.
