Introspection,
Schalmont High School’s
Literary Magazine, is now available
on the school webpage!
This is a club that provides students with
the opportunity to publish their original artwork,
photography, poetry, and short stories. We usually meet on
the second Thursday of every month for a formal meeting.
Every other Thursday, students work on editing, layout
design, writing, and conferencing. All high school students
are always welcome to attend.
Producing such elaborate issues of our
magazine uses a lot of paper and ink, which is rather
costly. Often, the issues are only read by people in the
high school building. In an effort to be more economical,
environmentally conscientious, and to reach out to the
community to share in reading these issues, the students of
this club have decided to publish our issues electronically.
This will now provide all community members, faculty and
staff with the opportunity to see Schalmont students’
artwork and writing in full color. We will also place the
last few years’ issues on the web; these were originally
published in the Sabre’s Edge Yearbook. Posting such issues
will hopefully create a sense of permanence for our artists
and will also enable many individuals to celebrate and
appreciate the effort and talent of so many students.
Enjoy these issues! Please feel free to
contact English teacher and Introspection advisor, Mrs.
Sarah Mattice via email:
smattice@sabrenet.net.
Also, if you would like to leave the Schalmont students any
positive comments about their work, please feel free to send
those electronically as well.
