Dec. 12,
2011—Jefferson Elementary School's fourth-graders and their
families had a ton of fun during a holiday concert on Dec. 7.
Students performed some of Santa's favorite hits,
including "Deck the Halls," "Jingle Bells," "Jolly Old Saint
Nicholas," and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." Other songs
included, "Merry Christmas in the Motor City," "A Real Live
Country Christmas," and "The Sounds of Christmas".
Students were dressed in groups representing different music
genres, such as elves for mo-town, reindeers for country and toy
soldiers for rock and roll. After Santa broke his old Perry
Cuomo record, each group sang a playlist of songs.
"The whole show was about modernizing Santa from
records and old LP's to MP3 players and iPods," said Music
Coordinator Eileen Scheffer. "It went really well!"
