Schalmont teachers collecting gift/bank cards for flood victims

Sept. 8, 2011—As a result of the devastation from Tropical Storm Irene and subsequent flooding, the Schalmont Teachers Association is collecting gift cards and bank cards to assist flood victims in rebuilding their lives.

Donations will be accepted through Monday, September 19, at which time they will be distributed to community members in need throughout Rotterdam Junction and Pattersonville.

Bank cards, such as Visa, American Express and Master Card, will allow individuals the flexibility to purchase what they need, but other gift cards will also be accepted. A wide variety of gift cards are available at Price Chopper where your purchase total will go towards their Fuel Advantage Program—saving you money on gas.

Community members interested in contributing to the STA's collection are encouraged to send a donation to:
