District announces 2011-12 Free and Reduced Price Meal Program

July 29, 2011—Parents of Schalmont Central School District students are invited to complete applications for their children to receive free or reduced price meals during the 2011-12 school year. Those parents who have previously qualified for free or reduced price meals must complete and submit an application for the new school year.

To apply for free or reduced price meals, parents must submit to their child’s school a completed free and reduced lunch application or a direct certification letter from the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance. Applications will be mailed home to all district parents with the annual school district calendar in late August. Applications may also be downloaded online

The district has adopted the following criteria to assist in determining a family’s eligibility for free or reduced price meals.
