The Schalmont Athletic Association is an active organization of
interested parents, community members, alumni parents and
students. We promote Schalmont student athletes and their
athletic programs. We strive to provide school spirit, school
pride and recognition of our student athletes. We are of group
of volunteers who work to generate funds that are used to
provide improvements in our facilities, school spirit activities
and universal equipment that are beyond what can be provided by
the school district.
Fundraising activities include our
annual golf tournament in the
fall,
annual bowling tournament in the winter, apparel sales and
our continuous operation of our concession stands.
Some examples of our larger purchases include a new portable
sound system, improvements to the area surrounding the outside
concession stand, a large contribution towards the varsity
baseball backstop, a scoreboard topper for the stadium field, a
new score board for one of the new soccer/football fields, a
beautiful entrance mat for the gym lobby, tred sled conditioning
equipment, an awning for the concession stand and concession equipment.
We also contributed a great deal to our Homecoming events
offering the DJ, raffle prizes, rented tents and hiring play
equipment.
We generally have several requests for financial assistance on
our plate from coaches, district and parent representatives
which we continually explore.
We would like to invite you to consider joining the SAA. We meet
once a month at 7 p.m. in the high school library. We generally
meet on the second Wednesday of the month. Dates of our meetings
are posted on the
district calendar. There is a one time per
year membership fee of $1 that can be paid at the meeting when
you attend.
